Famous people who hurt the liberty movement

This post is very interactive, so please comment.

Who do y'all think hurts the liberty movement/gives libertarians a bad name? That could mean anything from publicly endorsing a non-liberty candidate to spreading misinformation - giving people the wrong idea of libertarianism and/or giving libertarians a bad name.

Please tell which people and why you think so.

  1. Ohhhh boy. Let me be the kindling to a lulzy flame war...

    - Rand Paul, for saying a boatload of stupid or ignorant things in public during his so-far brief political career.

    - Glenn Greenwald and Edward Snowden, for recently popularizing the "burn it all" nihilist strain of libertarianism.

    - The Oathkeepers and sovereign citizen movement, for similar reasons, and also killing cops.

    - Alex Jones, as a stand-in for every doomsday conspiritard.

    - Lew Rockwell, as a stand-in for every tradition-for-its-own-sake "paleolibertarian" who decides that maybe blacks *are* more predisposed to crime after all.

    - The Austrian school of economics, for beating a dead horse and not taking "yes" for an answer when they do get something right.

Have I pissed enough people off yet? :P

  2. Alex Jones for sure. He's an embarrassment because he makes libertarians look like Dale Gribble. Glenn Beck because he's not really libertarian. Sarah Palin for same reason but worse, but she associates herself with the movement. And then all the rank-and-file people who post not just conspiracy crap but constant political ranting and opinion memes on Facebook. If the image of libertarians is that they're obsessed with politics and nothing else, nobody will want to join.
